Subscription Terms and Conditions

Last updated: 03 July 2026

1. About these terms and who we are

1.1  These terms and conditions (the “Terms”) govern your access to and use of DrillUp, including the DrillUp mobile application and the DrillUp web application, and the coaching content and related digital services made available through them (together, the “App” or the “Service”). References to the “App” include both the mobile and web versions, however you access the Service. Please read these Terms carefully before subscribing.

1.2  DrillUp is operated by Theo Imperiale, Lytchett House, 13 Freeland Park, Wareham Road, Poole, Dorset, BH16 6FA  (“we”, “us”, “our”). You can contact us at info@drillup.co.uk.

1.3  By creating an account, subscribing to the Service, or accessing any content through the App, you confirm that you accept these Terms and agree to comply with them. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the Service.

1.4  These Terms are made available to you within the App (in both its mobile and web versions) and you are asked to accept them before you complete your subscription. We recommend you save or print a copy for your records.

2. Who can subscribe and in what capacity

2.1  The Service is intended for football coaches who wish to access coaching content and training material for use in their coaching activities. By subscribing you confirm that you are at least 16 years old and able to enter into a legally binding contract. If you are under 18, you confirm that you have the agreement of your parent or guardian to subscribe.

2.2  These Terms assume that you are subscribing in the course of a trade, business, profession or craft (that is, as a “business”). If you are subscribing wholly or mainly for purposes outside any trade, business, profession or craft, you are a “consumer” and certain additional rights apply to you, and certain provisions of these Terms do not apply to you. See clause 16 (Consumer subscribers). If you are a consumer, please tell us at info@drillup.co.uk so that we can apply the correct terms.

2.3  You are responsible for ensuring that your use of the Service, and your delivery of any coaching to your own clients, complies with all laws, regulations, governing-body rules and professional standards that apply to you.

3. The nature of the Service

3.1  The App provides general football coaching content, drills, training guidance and related material (the “Content”), accessible through both the mobile and web versions of the Service. The Content is provided for use by qualified or competent coaches who exercise their own professional judgement.

3.2 The Content is general in nature and is not tailored to any individual participant. It does not take account of the age, health, fitness, ability, medical condition or individual circumstances of any person you coach. We do not assess, supervise or have any involvement in the sessions you deliver to your own clients.

3.3  You are solely responsible for deciding whether any drill, exercise or guidance is appropriate and safe for the particular individuals you coach, for adapting it as necessary, and for supervising its use. This is explained further in clause 8 (Your responsibilities) and clause 9 (Coaching children and safeguarding).

4. Subscription, term and renewal

4.1  When you subscribe, you select a subscription plan. We will tell you the price, the billing frequency and the renewal date before you subscribe and will confirm these to you afterwards.

4.2  Your subscription will continue and automatically renew at the end of each billing period (either monthly or annual) you select unless and until it is cancelled in accordance with these Terms and our Refund and Cancellation Policy. Each renewal is for a further billing period at the then-current price (subject to clause 5).

4.3  If a trial is offered: Your subscription may begin with a 1 week free trial. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, your subscription will automatically continue and you will be charged for the first billing period (on a monthly basis by default or as you selected).

4.4  You may cancel your subscription, and turn off auto-renewal, at any time as described in our Refund and Cancellation Policy. Cancellation and refund rights, and the mechanics of cancelling, are set out in that Policy, which forms part of these Terms.

5. Price and payment

5.1  The price of your subscription is as set out in the App at the time you subscribe or renew. Prices are inclusive of VAT.

5.2  We may change our prices from time to time. We will give you reasonable advance notice of any price change before it takes effect. If you do not wish to pay the new price, you may cancel before the change takes effect, as described in our Refund and Cancellation Policy.

5.3  Payment is taken where you subscribe through the Apple App Store or Google Play, through your Apple or Google account. If we are unable to collect payment when due, we may suspend or withdraw your access until payment is made.

5.4  Where you subscribe through an app store, billing is handled by that app store and is also subject to its terms. See our Refund and Cancellation Policy for how app store purchases are treated.

6. Your licence to access and use the Content

6.1  All intellectual property rights in the App and the Content (including all coaching material, drills, training plans, text, graphics, video, audio, the DrillUp name and logo and all other branding) are owned by us or our licensors. Nothing in these Terms transfers any of those rights to you.

6.2  In return for payment of your subscription fees, and for as long as your subscription remains active, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence to access and use the Content through the App for the sole purpose of informing and supporting the coaching services you personally deliver to your own clients.

6.3  You may use the Content as a coaching aid in sessions you deliver, and may demonstrate or explain drills drawn from the Content to the clients you are coaching in the ordinary course of those sessions.

6.4  You must not:

  • copy, reproduce, download (except as the App expressly permits for your own use), store, publish, broadcast or otherwise make the Content available to anyone other than in the course of personally coaching your own clients;

  • share, sub-licence, sell, rent, lend or otherwise distribute the Content, your account or your login credentials to any other person, including other coaches;

  • reproduce or republish the Content (in whole or in part) as your own coaching product, course, app, website or material, or otherwise commercialise the Content beyond using it as an aid in delivering your own coaching services;

  • remove, obscure or alter any copyright, trade mark or other proprietary notices; or

  • use the Content in any way that competes with DrillUp or that is unlawful, or attempt to reverse engineer, decompile or extract the source materials of the App.

6.5  Your account is personal to you. Each coach must hold their own subscription. The licence does not permit “club” or shared use across multiple coaches under a single account unless we expressly agree this in writing.

6.6  If you breach this clause 6, we may suspend or terminate your access immediately (see clause 12). The rights granted to you end automatically when your subscription ends, and you must stop using and delete any locally stored Content.

7. Your account and acceptable use

7.1  You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity that takes place under your account. You must notify us promptly at info@drillup.co.uk if you suspect any unauthorised use of your account.

7.2  You must provide accurate registration information and keep it up to date. You must not misuse the App, introduce malicious code, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Service.

8. Your responsibilities as a coach

8.1  You are the professional responsible for the coaching you deliver. The Content is a resource only. As between you and us, you are solely responsible for:

  • assessing whether any drill, exercise or guidance from the Content is suitable and safe for each individual you coach, taking account of their age, health, fitness, ability and any medical conditions;

  • obtaining any health information, consents and medical clearances you consider necessary from your clients (or their parents or guardians) before they take part;

  • properly instructing, supervising and managing your sessions, including warm-up, technique, intensity, equipment, playing surface and environmental conditions;

  • holding and maintaining the coaching qualifications, registrations, first-aid provision and insurance appropriate to the coaching you deliver (see clause 8.3); and

  • complying with all laws, regulations and the rules of any relevant governing body (including The Football Association) that apply to your coaching.

8.2  You acknowledge that we do not provide medical, health or safety advice, that we do not warrant that any particular drill or activity is safe or suitable for any particular person, and that the decision to use any Content with any client is yours alone.

8.3  Insurance

You must take out and maintain, with a reputable insurer, public liability insurance and (where relevant to the coaching you deliver) professional indemnity insurance, providing cover of not less than £1,000,000 (one million pounds) for any one claim. This is a minimum requirement only. You remain responsible for assessing whether a higher level of cover is appropriate for the coaching you deliver – in particular where you coach children or vulnerable adults, for whom a higher level of cover is commonly expected – and for ensuring your cover extends to all the activities you carry out. You must provide evidence of your insurance to us promptly on request.

9. Coaching children and safeguarding

9.1  Football coaching frequently involves children and young people. Where you use the Content in coaching anyone under the age of 18 or any vulnerable adult, you are solely responsible for compliance with all safeguarding and child-protection laws, regulations and governing-body requirements that apply to you.

9.2  In particular, you are responsible for:

  • holding current and appropriate Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks and any other clearances required for working with children or vulnerable adults;

  • holding appropriate safeguarding qualifications and following a safeguarding policy that meets the standards of your relevant governing body (such as The FA’s safeguarding requirements);

  • obtaining all necessary parental or guardian consents before coaching any child;

  • ensuring appropriate supervision ratios, first aid and emergency arrangements are in place; and

  • maintaining appropriate insurance covering your work with children and vulnerable adults, meeting at least the minimum in clause 8.3 (and noting that a higher level of cover is commonly expected for work with children).

9.3  We do not supervise, monitor or take part in any session you deliver. We are not responsible for your compliance, or any failure to comply, with safeguarding or child-protection obligations, which rest entirely with you as the coach delivering the session.

10. Your indemnity to us

10.1  This clause 10 applies to you only if you are a business subscriber (see clause 2). It does not apply to consumer subscribers (see clause 16).

10.2  You agree to indemnify us, and keep us indemnified, against all liabilities, claims, demands, losses, damages, costs and reasonable expenses that we suffer or incur arising out of or in connection with:

  • any claim brought by, or in respect of, any person you coach or any third party, relating to the coaching services you deliver or your use of the Content in those services;

  • your breach of these Terms, including the licence restrictions in clause 6;

  • your breach of any safeguarding, child-protection, health and safety or other legal or regulatory obligation; or

  • your negligence or wrongful act or omission in delivering coaching to your clients.

10.3  This indemnity does not require you to indemnify us against liability that the law does not allow to be passed on, or against loss caused by our own breach of these Terms or our own negligence.

11. Our responsibility for loss or damage

11.1  Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability for:

  • death or personal injury caused by our negligence;

  • fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; or

  • any other liability that cannot be limited or excluded by law.

11.2  Subject to clause 11.1, and because the Content is a general resource that you apply using your own professional judgement, we are not responsible for any injury, loss or damage suffered by you, by any person you coach, or by any other third party, arising from the way in which you select, adapt, deliver or supervise any drill, exercise or activity. Responsibility for the safe and appropriate delivery of coaching rests with you (see clauses 8 and 9).

11.3  Subject to clause 11.1, we are not liable for losses that are not foreseeable, losses arising from events outside our reasonable control, or (where you are a business) any loss of profit, loss of business, business interruption, or loss of business opportunity, whether arising in contract, tort (including negligence), breach of statutory duty or otherwise.

11.4  Subject to clause 11.1, our total liability to you, whether in contract, tort (including negligence), breach of statutory duty or otherwise, arising under or in connection with these Terms is limited to the total subscription fees you paid to us in the 12 months immediately before the event giving rise to the liability.

11.5  We provide the Service with reasonable care and skill. We do not guarantee that the App will always be available, uninterrupted or error-free, and we may suspend the Service as described in clause 12.

12. Changes, suspension, withdrawal and ending the contract
12.1  Changes to the Service and these Terms

We may update the Content and make changes to the App and these Terms, for example to reflect changes in law, to improve the Service or for security reasons. If a change is material and to your disadvantage, we will give you reasonable notice and, where the law requires, an opportunity to end your subscription and receive a refund of fees paid in advance for Service you will not receive.

12.2  Suspension and withdrawal

We may suspend or withdraw all or part of the Service, for example to deal with technical issues, for maintenance, or where required by law. Where we suspend or withdraw the Service for a significant period for reasons within our control, you may be entitled to a refund as described in our Refund and Cancellation Policy.

12.3  Ending the contract for breach

We may suspend or end your subscription immediately if you materially breach these Terms (including the licence restrictions in clause 6), if you fail to pay when due and do not pay within 14 days of a reminder, or if your use of the Service creates a risk of harm or legal liability. If we end your subscription for breach, you will not be entitled to a refund of fees for the current billing period, except to the extent the law requires.

12.4  Effect of the contract ending

When your subscription ends for any reason, your licence under clause 6 ends, your access to the Content will stop, and you must stop using and delete any Content stored on your devices. Clauses which by their nature should survive termination (including clauses 6, 8, 9, 10, 11, 13 and 14) will continue to apply.

13. Data protection

13.1  We process personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy: https://www.drillup.co.uk/privacy-policy. Please read it to understand how we collect and use your personal data.

13.2  Where you collect or use personal data about the clients you coach, you are responsible as the relevant controller for that data and for your own compliance with data protection law. We are not responsible for how you handle your clients’ personal data.

14. Other important terms

14.1  We may transfer our rights and obligations under these Terms to another organisation. We will tell you if this happens and will ensure it does not affect your rights under these Terms.

14.2  You may not transfer your rights or obligations under these Terms, or your account, to anyone else.

14.3  These Terms are between you and us. No other person has any right to enforce them.

14.4  If any provision of these Terms is found to be unlawful or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force.

14.5  If we do not insist that you perform any obligation, or delay in enforcing our rights, that does not mean we have waived our rights against you.

15. Governing law and jurisdiction

15.1  These Terms and any dispute arising out of or in connection with them are governed by the law of England and Wales.

15.2  The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, except that if you are a consumer resident in Scotland or Northern Ireland you may also bring proceedings in your local courts, and clause 16 applies.

16. Consumer subscribers

16.1  This clause 16 applies only if you are a consumer (see clause 2). Where it conflicts with any other provision of these Terms, this clause 16 prevails in your favour.

  • The indemnity in clause 10 does not apply to you.

  • The exclusions and limitations in clause 11 apply to you only to the extent permitted by law. We remain responsible for foreseeable loss and damage caused by our failure to use reasonable care and skill, and for our breach of the statutory rights you have under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 (that digital content and services be as described, of satisfactory quality and fit for purpose). Nothing in these Terms affects those statutory rights.

  • You have the cancellation and refund rights set out in our Refund and Cancellation Policy, including (where applicable) a 14-day cooling-off right.

  • You may bring proceedings in the courts of the part of the UK in which you live, and the law of that part of the UK may give you additional protections.

16.2  Your statutory rights as a consumer are not affected by these Terms. For more information about your rights, visit www.citizensadvice.org.uk.
